SCTC Tours Primos CNC Production Department
Simpson County Technical Center students enrolled in Metal Fabrication, Construction/Carpentry, and Polymer Science programs recently toured Primos CNC Production Department in Brookhaven.
Primos Hunting is the leader in the design and manufacturing of game calls for elk, deer, turkey, predator and waterfowl. The company holds and owns a vast portfolio of patents and trademarks both foreign and domestic.
Randy Kennedy, CNC machinist, gave a tour of each department and the shipping facility. He explained each job and the knowledge and expectations required. He also spoke to students about the skills and abilities required in the general production process, which includes a basic understanding of assembling and packaging products and sound safety practices. He even shared information of jobs offered in the career and technical education programs they are now enrolled in.
