SCA Top of the Class for 2023

Simpson County Academy announced the Top 3 for the Class of 2023.

Marissa Davis was named Valedictorian. 

Marissa is the daughter of Gary and Teressa Davis of Collins. She plans to attend The University of Southern Mississippi and major in a dual licensure program for elementary and special education. She is the STAR Student, and she has received various subject awards over the years.

Marissa will be a member of the Honors College at USM, and she received the Discovery Scholarship which pays for full tuition, first-year housing, and a $5,000 study abroad trip.

Emma Overstreet was named Salutatorian. 

Emma is the daughter of Drs. Jeff and Angel Overstreet of Magee. She plans to attend Copiah Lincoln Community College but is undecided on her major at this time. Throughout her highschool career she has participated in cross country, basketball, track, and tennis. Emma has been on the Headmaster’s List, in the ACT 25 Club, and recognized with high honors since 7th grade.  She is a member of the MAIS Honor Society, a Diamond Doll for SCA baseball, and a water girl for the Cougar varsity football team.

Gracie Giordano was named class Historian. 

 

Gracie is the daughter of Cliff and Brandi Giordano of Mendenhall.  She plans to attend Copiah-Lincoln Community College and major in Business and Graphic Design. She has received the Priority One Bank Scholarship, ACT Scholarship, and the Simpson County Future Leaders Scholarship.
Gracie is a member of the Lady Cougar softball team, varsity cheerleader, God’s girls, FCA, and Diamond Doll for the baseball team. She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, FBLA, Phi Theta Kappa, and a Simpson County Future Leader.
