Both SCA teams are headed to the District Championship

SCA vs. Lamar, January 18

Last night, February 15, both varsity teams from Simpson Academy punched their ticket to the District Championship. The girls, lead by Coach Linda Dear, played first against the Lady East Rankin Patriots. The game was competitive with a close score, however, the Cougars would come out on top with a final score of 46-35. The girls will face bitter SCA rival Lamar for the District Title at 3:15 today.

The boys, lead by Coach James Crain, faced the Hartfield Hawks which they split during the regular season. Simpson trailed the first half but was able to develop a lead after coming back out from half-time.

The Cougars would go on to win by 6 with a final score of 52-46. The varsity boys will play Copiah tonight at 6. Both games will be played in Meridian at Lamar School, so come out and cheer our Cougars to victory!

Not only were parents and friends packed in the gym, two men from Simpson County made the drive to Meridian to support as well. Bro. Paul and Dr. Runnels came to support their Cougars and both teams greatly appreciate their support!
