Sadie Kate Kennedy was honored to meet Governor Phil Bryant Monday, May 25 at the City of Brandon’s Memorial Day Program.
While taking part of the program, she represented the Chief Red Jacket Chapter of the Mississippi State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (MSSDAR).
Sadie Kate’s mother, grandmother, numerous aunts & cousins are members of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), having established their family lineage to the American Revolutionary War.
Sadie Kate is an active member of the Children of the American Revolution (CAR). She is currently the 2015-2016 chairperson for the Mississippi State Society Children of the American Revolution (MSSCAR) committees, “American History” & “Kids Helping Kids”.
Sadie Kate was wearing an 1850’s period day dress which has been lovingly created by her Grammie, including hand-sewn accents like lace, rosettes & glass beadwork.
Sadie Kate is the 14yr old daughter of Brian C. & DAR member Audra Kennedy; granddaughter of Shelby & DAR member Barbara Colson; granddaughter of Bobbie Kennedy & the late Jim Kennedy, all of Magee. She is the great niece of MSSDAR Chapter Chief Red Jacket Regent Maxine Nolen.
