Rumblings in the Neighborhood

Weekly, a report of a shooting or a break-in seems to be the talk of Magee.  Eastside had problems with gun shots…and now 3rd Avenue SW (down the street from me) a home was broken into.

Our police do a good job in following up on any complaints.  We may not always like the methods are timing involved…but they are checking on our people.

My “couple of blocks down the street” neighbor was awakened by her 15 year old daughter reporting someone was scratching on her window.  The daughter immediately got her mother.  By the time, the mother reached the daughter’s room, a man was climbing in the window and landed on her daughter’s bed! When the mother confronted the robber, he said “um um my bad” and climbed back out the window.  According to the mother, the Magee Police came and did a good job…but we don’t know who is climbing in windows!

The incident took place Thursday, June 29th, between 12:45 AM and 1:00 AM.

The Piggly Wiggly and the tire store next door were broken into on Monday.  (According to police the culprit is known and is a juvenile—see you in court!)

(The PD is to send a press release)

As home owners, we must take precautions.  Good lighting is a necessity.  Be aware of everything and everyone.  We need to be the eyes of the police!  Do not hesitate to report something suspicious to the police…..and of course, lock your doors…also lock your vehicles.

Due to rain, the City Fire Works show was cancelled and rescheduled for Friday, July 14th at 9:00 PM. (Pass the word)

If you are like me, today seems like Monday!  Enjoy the remainder of your week!

Special prayers for Koby Walker who has back surgery Thursday.
