Rodney L. Ayles passed away peacefully at St. Dominic Hospital on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the age of 62. He was born March 1, 1959, to Roy G. Ayles and Helen W. Ayles.
Rodney loved all things outdoors; including camping, scuba diving, fishing, hunting, skeet shooting and was an accomplished archer. He was also a talented musician who played guitar and had a beautiful singing voice. Rodney was a member of Polk County Baptist Church.
He is survived by his beloved best friend and wife, Jamie C. Ayles; children, Glen A. Ayles (Nicole), Helen Christine Thomas (Coty); grandchildren, Sophie Ayles, Emma Ayles, McKenzie Ayles, Alexis Pettigrew, Colby Thomas, Kinsley Thomas, Callie Thomas; sister, Amy A. Alston and by many cherished family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank Dr. Guangzhi A. Qu, Dr. Lindsey Thurmon Norris, Dr. Nurudeen Aremu Shekoni and the nurses and staff at St. Dominic Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of choice in remembrance of his name.
A private service will be planned for a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
