Robert Lee Taylor passed away on December 21, 2022. He was born in Pinola, MS to Henry and Ada Mae Turnage Taylor on November 21, 1938.
He attended Mendenhall High School. Afterward, he joined the United States Air Force. He was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church. He was influential in forming the Braxton Fire Department. He also served as a trustee for Simpson General Hospital. He retired after serving many years in the construction business. In his last few years of employment, he worked part-time for the Simpson County Sheriff’s office as the bailiff. He was loved dearly by all of his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Osborn Taylor; son, Michael Dean Taylor (Dawn); brothers, Billy Harold Taylor, Langley Taylor, Jackie Wayne Taylor (Shelia); sisters, Patsy Ruth Fuller, Shirley Pearson; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Dollar (Matt), Bobbi Dean; and great-grandson, Maverick Lane Dollar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ada Taylor; brothers, James Clovis Taylor, Henry Leroy Taylor, and sister, Virginia Johnson.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
