Richard Lee “Dick” Ford, 66, of Mize, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020, at his home in Mize, Mississippi. He was born Tuesday, August 25, 1953, in California.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi.
A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at 2:30 p.m. at Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery. Bro. Mike Hodgin will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
Known by his friends and family as Dick or Dickie. He was a multi-talented artist. He did a great deal of work in photography, painting, drawing, and animation. His art work is being sold at Brown’s Gallery in Jackson, Mississippi. He often quoted the biblical reference “Be of good cheer” and also “Be kind”.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Shoemake Ford; one son, Adam Ford; parents, Donald P. and Geraldine Steward Ford.
Survivors include three brothers, Dennis Ford of Mize, Edward Ford and wife, Ann of Madison, Thomas Ford and wife, Paula of Prosper, TX; one sister, Donna Ford Winegeart and husband Dale of Pineville, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
