REVISED PLAN FOR MAGEE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION CEREMONY MAY 21, 2020 at 6:00 PM

*on the field option

Seniors will line up in their vehicles starting at 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 21st outside the ticket booth window at the gymnasium. Senior sponsors and staff will attempt to line up vehicles in order according to the graduation processional so please be cooperative. Cars will enter the visitor’s side gate as directed by staff and proceed to the asphalted walkway in front on the visitor’s stands. Staff will direct traffic outside and inside the stadium. Seniors will exit the vehicle at the first gate and walk to the diploma table on the field to receive their diploma…seniors will then exit the field at the gate by the visitor’s stands and get back into their vehicle. As they exit the stadium they will turn right to circle behind the practice field and make a loop to pass back through campus on 1st Street NE (turn by the E Building and pass in between the practice field and the campus back to the gymnasium area).

The same restrictions apply on the type of vehicles allowed into the stadium: no trailers, no campers, no stretch limos – they cannot make the turn, no persons in the open beds of trucks…in other words…be smart about what you are doing to avoid disruption to the ceremony. Staff at Magee High School are willing to work and find transportation for students in families that do not have suitable vehicles.

Renew96.9 FM will broadcast the entire ceremony so each vehicle can hear speeches and the names of students as they are announced. All vehicles should be tuned in and remain respectful of noise levels so all family members can hear all senior names as they are called out.

  • No persons other than the senior graduate will be allowed out of the vehicle.
  • MageeNews.com will live stream the ceremony for persons who wish to watch from home or on their phones.
  • Other media coverage will be present as appropriate.
  • Bruckner’s will be available to photograph seniors who have prepaid for photographs.

Magee High wishes the best for each graduate and hopes this modified version of the traditional commencement exercises on Trojan Field honors the Class of 2020.
