The Magee Volunteer Fire Department continues every year to make strides in keeping our city safe.
I spoke with the 3 top men of the Magee Fire Department: City Fire Marshal, Charlie Valadie; Magee Volunteer Fire Chief Lane Steele; and Assistant Fire Chief Phillip Magee.
These guys are all about a safe city and a safe department.
City Fire Marshal Charlie Valadie spoke of his plans for 2020:
Continue to maintain a Class 5 rating
Inspection of all businesses
Emergency fuel shut off at all gas stations
Continue weekly checks of the fire station
Fire Chief Lane Steele spoke of his plans for 2020:
Continue training
Safety is the #1 priority
Even through the department has good response time to fires…strive to do even better
Work toward a Class 4
Assistant Chief Philip Magee shared his plans for 2020:

Have every firemen driver operator ready
Increase our firemen numbers ( We have 29 guys but can handle 36)
