I, Rachael “Suzie” Bourn, am excited to announce my candidacy for Ward 3 alderman of Magee.

I am married to Magee native Dustin Bourn and we have three boys Colt, Lachlan and Finn. Our family has chosen to make the current ward three home since relocating back to Magee seven years ago. We are active members of the First Baptist Church of Magee. I have earned double bachelors degrees in Marketing and AgBusiness/Ag Economics from Mississippi State University. I am a high school teacher for Simpson County School District, where I teach Business Marketing and Finance 1 and 2. We are small business owners and understand hard work and commitment.

Currently, I am serving as the secretary for the Magee Airport Board. Over the past two years, I have regularly attended Board of Aldermen meetings, Zoning Board meetings, Airport Board meetings, Town Hall meetings and have engaged in numerous discussions with residents about their concerns. I am familiar with the issues we are facing as citizens and as a town.

I am deeply committed to building on the progress the current board has made, while maintaining the momentum that has been created; Magee simply cannot regress. As a transplant to Magee, I have a unique perspective and I will work diligently to ensure that each citizen is treated fairly. It is my commitment to you, that every decision will be made with the utmost transparency and with the will of the constituents of ward 3 at the forefront.

Suzie and her family are members of First Baptist Church of Magee
