The Scriptural passage for today is found in 1 Timothy 6:11: “You, man of God… pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.” We Christians are being addressed directly and admonished to seek attributes of our God. Each is important. Let’s strive to “clothe” ourselves in each as we make our way each day and interact with our fellow man. As the old gospel song puts it “I Want To Walk As Close As I Possibly Can.” My prayer is to be more like Him and less like me.
A reminder to me of some of the bountiful riches we enjoy, especially during this season of the year. The pumpkins and guards are a symbol of harvest time and help serve as harbingers of the approaching close of another year. We call the season “Thanksgiving” and for good reason. I hope we’re looking forward to a time to get together with family and friends to give thanks for the blessings God has given freely to us throughout the year. As we live and learn by observation and experience, we mark the signs of the time of year.
Be sure to share the love and joy today with everyone we meet. Someone will receive a blessing from your efforts.
Happy Sunday!
