On Thursday, August 11, 2016, K-9 officer Landon Ates made a traffic stop on Raleigh Drive near 5th Avenue NE. Driver Brian Price pulled into a drive-way near 5th Avenue NE. Both driver Brian Price and passenger Keba Walker jumped out of the vehicle and began to run. The K-9 officer subdued suspect Kebra Walker within 50 yards from the traffic stop.
Brian Price continued to flee from the traffic stop running from Hilton Drive into the back woods of this area. K-9 Officer Landon Ates deployed Aram (the K-9 dog) which began tracking Price at this time. Price continued to run behind the East Side Community beside a creek. Aram tracked Price in the area behind the old YMCA near highway 28 East. When Price saw Aram, the dog, he surrendered to the police.
After taking Mr. Price into custody, methamphetamine was found. Brian Price is charged with possession of a controlled substance, DUI, resisting arrest, no Driver’s License, Warrant, and no turn signal. Price’s bond was set at $40,000 for the possession of methamphetamine.
The Magee Police Departments thanks the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office for assisting in the apprehension of the suspect.
