Following a tornado that did a tremendous amount of devastation to the Pine Grove area near Magee, another twister hits the Hattiesburg/Petal area.

…and it isn’t over yet!  Bad weather is still in the forecast for Saturday night.  Ya’ll, this weather stuff is scary.

Public Comments Return to City of Magee Board Meetings

November 6, 2025

I wonder if people really understand and realize the magnitude of what happened in Pine Grove.  Almost every resident in that area suffered damage…some even lost their homes…we are so blessed to have been spared with loss of life…as we all know…you can rebuild a house…you can’t a person.

The Hattiesburg area had four people to die.

Do you take the weather sirens seriously?  Do you just ignore the warning and keep on with your task?  Let me tell you, the city doesn’t blow that siren just to hear it!!! If the siren sounds, take cover…. something is going on.  When the siren sounds, the hospital and nursing home must move patients to the hall (and that isn’t easy)…so if the siren sounds…pay attention!  Take your cell phone, get your shoes, grab a flash light…now, there may not even be time to get your shoes on…a flashlight and portable radio should be in your safe place.  We come back to the Girl Scouts…be prepared!

Speaking of the Girl Scouts, it’s cookie time!!! The cookie sale is the fundraising project of this powerful group.  Open up your pocket books…your stomach will be glad!

Special prayers for the people who suffered damage in Thursday’s storm.  Living through a tornado can leave an everlasting fear of bad weather…cause an adult or child to have nightmares…pray for the people of the Hattiesburg/Petal area.  Families are devastated…many are dealing with the loss of someone they dearly loved.  We know the power of prayer.  We have seen the results.  Don’t underestimate what your prayer can do.  Isn’t it wonderful to always know that God hears our prayers.  We may not understand how a prayer is answered…or not answered…but we know the power and wisdom of an almighty God.

Blessings to all.  Thank you for being my friends!
