On April 4, 2018, at approximate 1851 hours, Simpson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies stopped a black colored Ford Sedan. As Simpson County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted the traffic stop for Careless Driving near Polk’s Meat Company on Highway 49 South, the suspects fled southbound on Highway 49 traveling into Covington County. At this time, Magee Police Department, Covington County Sheriff’s Office, Collins Police Department, and Mt Olive Police Department assisted the Simpson County Sheriff Department in the pursuit. The pursuit traveled on Hwy 49S until exiting onto Sunset Road, located in Collins, Ms. The suspects continued on Sunset Road until crashing at the intersection of Sunset Road and Hwy 35. Once the suspects vehicle came to rest, both suspects were apprehended. The subjects were identified as Ernesto Giovanni H?M (11-12-88) Jacksonville, FL and Brandon Tillmann W?M (3-25-92) Umatilla, FL. After the pursuit, Simpson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies discovered approximately 16 pounds of alleged Marijuana hidden inside a black garbage bag which was lying on the back-passenger side floorboard. Simpson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies took possession of the alleged Marijuana and transported Emesto Giovanni and Brandon Tilman to the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center.
