Paul Douglas Purser of Magee, passed away on May 22, 2021. He was born January 19, 1941, to James Cordell Purser and Minnie (Buchanan) Purser.
Paul was an asset to his community. He served his country in The United States Army where he worked from an early age. He eventually retired from his career as a recruiter for The Army National Guard. He also was a volunteer with the Magee Fire Department for over thirty-two years.
Paul and his wife, Shirley (Sullivan) Purser were married for fifty-eight years. They raised their four sons, Douglas, Don, Darren and Dale with good family values. He was the rock of their family and they have lost a kind and loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Douglas Purser, Don Purser, Darren Purser (Amanda), Dale Purser (Beronica); brother, Eugene Purser (Rita); seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren along with a host of nephews, nieces and many friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. The service will be at 3:00 pm in the Tutor Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Andy Boles and Bro. Doug Lane officiating. Interment will follow in Magee City Cemetery.
