Patsy Grubbs Morris, 89 of Richland, MS went home to be with the Lord on July 29th, 2025.
She was born on November 26, 1935 in Simpson County, MS, to Jim Henry and Katie Mae Grubbs. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.
She retired in 2003 from the VA hospital after serving as a Nursing Assistant for 37 years of caring for our service members. She was a natural caregiver and loved with her whole heart.
Patsy accepted everyone she met unconditionally. She loved to travel and go fishing, but most of all, Patsy’s favorite place to be was in her kitchen with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Henry Grubbs & Katie Mae Williamson Grubbs; Sister, Beulah Frances Taylor; Brothers, Howard Nelson Grubbs &Ralph Colon Grubbs, all of Simpson County, MS.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Sydney Doyle Morris of Richland; Daughters, Sharon Kate Leland of Richland, Karen Leland Pittman (Larry) of Florence, and Cynthia Morris of Mendenhall; Son, Randi Morris (Angela) of Seymour, TN; sister-in-law, Edna Watts of Leesburg; Grandsons, Tommy Pittman of Evanston, IL; Ronnie Martin of Los Angeles, CA; Granddaughter, Laci Martin of Mendenhall; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and her beloved best friend, Mrs Ora Gibbs of Jackson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall in 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall, MS. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 02, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall in Mendenhall, MS. Burial will follow in Grubbs Cemetery in Mendenhall, MS. Bro Michael Grubbs and Bro Bob Smith will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401
Pallbearers will be Charles Harris Watts, Ricky Watts, Glenn Babb, Andy Taylor, Josh Taylor, and Chris Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Pittman.
Special music will be performed by Tommy Pittman.
