Oscar Lee Dukes (64) of Raleigh, MS passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born to Oscar and Mary Katherine (Boykin) Dukes on May 20, 1957, in Jackson, MS.
Oscar lived a full and vibrant life with multitudes of family and friends. He participated in many hobbies throughout his life, namely Power Squadron, boating and fishing, and SCA Club, where he made many friends and impacted many lives. He enjoyed a career as a systems analyst and programmer for Bering Point, Hewlett Packard, and other organizations. After retiring, he moved in with his mother and spent his final years gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family and his cats.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Katherine Dukes; his sons, Oscar Lee Dukes, Jr. (Kimberly) and Caleb Dukes (Shelby); his brother, Arthur Dee Dukes (Karla); his sister, Mary Montez Bruntlett (Steve); his four grandchildren, Anna Kathryn, Victoria, Molly, and Tristan; and his two great-grandchildren, Bella and Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan (Hayes) Dukes and his father, Oscar Dukes.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Trinity Methodist Church in Raleigh, MS. Visitation will be followed by the funeral services, officiated by Stevie Bruntlett, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Bruntlett, Sean Bruntlett, Luke Bruntlett, Hunter Sykes, Tim Dukes, and Tony Barker.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
