The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Matthew 18:4: “Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.” Yes, Jesus loves the little children of the world. He often gathered them round Him during His earthly ministry. It was their humility, their trusting natures which appealed so to Christ. He looks for those very traits in us, His children of today. We must approach Him humbled and contrite and with open hearts of love. Our very vulnerability allows Him to commune with us on a plane of total acceptance. He despises a proud and haughty nature which doesn’t allow Him access. Let us, therefore, be as little children in our daily association with God. “Jesus love me this I know. For the BIBLE tells me so. Little ones to Him belong. We are weak, but He is strong.” It is still one of my very favorite hymns. Amen!
