RE: One-Vehicle Fatal Accident, Simpson County
At approximately 8:26 a.m., on May 30, 2021, the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle accident on MS43, approximately one mile south of Merritt Road in Simpson County.
Preliminary reports indicate a 2009 Honda FIT, driven by William C. Clark, 40, of Mendenhall, MS, was traveling northbound on MS43 when he suffered a medical emergency, as per the coroner, and left the roadway colliding with a tree. Mr. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene .Mr.Clark was not wearing a seatbelt.
The accident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
