Nickles named MACJC Player of the Week
Copiah-Lincoln kicker/punter Greg Nickles has been named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Special Teams Player of the Week. Nickles finished a perfect 4-for-4 on field goal attempts in No. 4 Co-Lin’s 26-14 win over Itawamba. The sophomore, an East Rankin Academy alum, made one kick of 22-yards, two from 33-yards, and one from 36-yards. Nickles also finished 2-for-2 on PAT kicks, had one kickoff go for a touchback, and had an excellent night as a punter, a duty he took over this year after only serving as a placekicker as a freshman. He punted seven times for 218 yards, had one punt downed inside the 20-yard line, and recorded a long punt of 41-yards. Nickles will now be nominated for national player of the week honors.
