Message from Ian Cowart, Chamber President:

Your Chamber board has been hard at work this and it looks like things are coming to fruition all at once.
Not only is the music system being installed today, but our second part of our project starts today as well.
Just to inform everyone, I am referring to our “Welcome to Downtown Magee” mural. The chamber board voted to move forward with our plans and approved the design.
Last night I presented the mural design before the mayor and board of alderman. They approved and work starts today. The mural will be painted on the blue wall on the side of Sassy Glass facing the Magee Courier. Sassy Glass approved of the design and is just as excited as the chamber to see this go up.
The artist we hired for the job is Tim Johnson from Seminary MS. Tim is known for his great mural work in Seminary and surrounding cities.
Tim met with our chamber Vice President, Laura Lynn Barr and myself a while back to discuss this idea. Tim took photo of the wall and drafted a design for the chamber to approve. The board as well as the city fell in love with it.
I am excited that our Project Downtown is coming together for the entire City of Magee to see. If weather allows, the mural will hopefully be finished by the end of the week.
Please take the time to come to Downtown Magee to shop, walk around and listen to music, and see the new mural.
