WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Mississippi University for Women (The W) have formed a new agreement for Early Childhood Education Technology students. Co-Lin President Dr. Jane Hulon and The W President Nora Miller met recently to make the agreement official.

The partnership gives students in early childhood education the ability to transfer up to 90 credit hours to The W after graduating from Co-Lin.

“Through Co-Lin’s mission to provide educational programs, it is vital that we create opportunities for our students to transition seamlessly into their studies at a university,” said Co-Lin Associate Vice President of Instructional Services Jackie Martin. “Traditionally, many of the career-technical programs of study have not had this opportunity, but with partnership pathways such as this one we are making it possible.”

This unique partnership allows Co-Lin students who complete their Associate in Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education Technology, to then take up to 30 academic hours on any Co-Lin campus. Students would then transfer to The W where they will accept up to 90 hours from Co-Lin. Students would complete the remaining course work to earn their bachelor’s degree online through The W.

“The W has always been a strong partner with Co-Lin and we look forward to exploring additional opportunities for our students with them,” said Dr. Hulon.
