Kenleigh Magee, Mendenhall’s Miss Hospitality, stopped by the Simpson County Supervisors meeting Monday, April 18, 2022 for a quick visit and photo op.

Sheriff Paul Mullins reported the following request and HR report:

  • Approval and signatures of CESF Grant (Coronavirus Emergency Supplement Funding) in the amount of $5,000.
  • Shea Seghini and Donna Smith to attend sex offender registration and compliance symposium 2022 September 27th – 30th in Biloxi. Hotel and travel fees requested.
  • Jeffery Knight as a new hire for jail part time non-certified.
  • Jerri McCarty is moving to jailer full time certified.
  • Jeffery Mann moving to jailer full-time certified.
  • Derek Rosado moving to full-time jailer certified.
  • Marcus Spenser moving to full time jailer certified.
  • Tiffany Rutland moving to full-time certified dispatcher.

Chancery Clerk Tommy Jo Harvey reported the 2020 Audit report and proof of publication for Simpson County is on file in the Chancery Clerks office.

John Killpatrick County EMC reported a total of 1341 911 calls for the month.

EMS reported 269 911 calls with an average time of 20:46.

During Sunday’s storm there were 6 structure’s damaged and high power outage in the area.

The board approved for Killpatrick to attend MCDEMA meeting at Silver Star Resort on May 25, 2022.

A public hearing  was held to consider the petition for permanent closure of Cliff Reed Sr, Road as a public road. No one was present to speak against. The board approved the request for closure of the road.

The board approved the bids for sale of seized and forfeited firearms to licensed firearm dealers from the sheriff’s department. The sheriff’s department will be able to use the money to purchase new firearms needed.

The board will be attending the MAPDD Annual Educational Conference April 19-22 in Biloxi.
