IMG_2704 IMG_2703The Mississippi College football team rushed for 500 yards on 55 carries and five touchdowns, outscoring Belhaven 28-0 in the second half to pick up a 42-21 win on Saturday night at Robinson-Hale Stadium.
Sophomore quarterback Kyle Smith carried the ball 21 times for 192 yards and a score, while senior and former Belhaven signal-caller Raymond Cotton rushed for 158 yards and three scores.
The Choctaws trailed 21-14 at the half, but the MC defense was stout in the second 30 minutes, holding the Blazers scoreless.
Freshman Mike Hall and sophomore Chris Manning led MC with six tackles apiece, while freshman Krishun Cash had an interception and freshman R.J. Arnold had a sack.
The Blazers were led by quarterback Clayton Webb, passing for three touchdowns and 313 yards.

The Choctaws will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Lake Charles, La. to face McNeese State at 6:00 p.m.
