Always greeting customers with a smile and always possessing a wealth of knowledge, Wanda often holds the key to the city when something is needed.  From the cemetery to the water towner to the city barn to the water bills to the permits, Wanda knows it all.

How do you replace someone like Wanda?  You really can’t.  I imagine she will receive several phone calls everyday!

“I have enjoyed working for the city,” stated Mrs. Williams.  “Like anyone, I have favorite customers…people who have been coming for 20 years.  I will miss those precious people,” said Wanda.

“More and more is online.  Technology continues to open the pathway to knowledge…and our city is ready and willing to move forward, “explained Wanda.

Wanda mentioned that one things she has noticed is the difficulty for people paying water bills.  “There have always been problems, but I’ve seen an increase in the last few years,”explained Wanda.

Veronica Forest, Fannie Butler,Faye Runnels(2 years),  Pat Boone and Deana Mosley worked with Wanda for 15 years.  She also worked closely with City Clerks Donald Fortenberry, Twila Grant, Lane Yerby, and now Jon Styron.

Amanda Seghini, Wanda Williams, Libby Shivers, and Kim Jackson

Kim Jackson joined the team part time a few years ago.  Libby Hegwood Shivers and Amanda Seghini are quickly learning from Wanda the tricks of the trade!

“I plan to spend time with my family…especially my grandchildren…and camping every chance my husband and I have.  I enjoyed my years with the city.  I took pride in my job and pride in my city.  I love Magee and want to see the city continue to grow,” added Wanda.

The citizens and friends of Wanda Williams and David Dunn are invited to a Retirement party at the Magee Civic Center on Thursday, June 23 beginning at 5 o’clock.
