MILK OF THE WORD

Thank you for taking time to read this devotion.  Our reading today comes from Psalm 131:2.  Surely I have behaved and quieted myself as a child that is weaned of his mother.  My soul is even as a weaned child.

David tells us here that when we become a child of God we are new born and need the milk and meat of the word.  We must be still and listen to God.  Our heart must be open to God as well as our ears, eyes, and mouth.  Our heart is the place where God meets and relates to us personally.  We listen to his directions.  Spending time with him in prayer and Bible study helps Jesus to reach our deepest level of need.  He keeps our flame burning for him to a lost and dark world.  Strength that Jesus offers gives us glory and praise to let us know how much we truly care.  Have a victorious week.
