Michael Daniel “Mike” Harvey, 67 of Mt. Olive, Mississippi passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Thursday, March 31, 1955, in Raleigh, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 113 Front Street, Taylorsville, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Bro. John Barnes will officiate. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Debbie Dukes. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564
Mike was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mize, Mississippi. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed hunting, working on tractors, and most of all spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Harvey; mother, Mary Nell Williams Harvey; grandson, Hunter Jordan; great-granddaughter, Hazel Reid.
Survivors include his two daughters, Marcy Harvey Jordan (Brian White) of Taylorsville, MS, and Melissa Harvey Walters (Clay) of Soso, MS; seven grandchildren, Kaytlyn Parker (Quinton) of Lucedale, MS, Kacie Parker of Taylorsville, MS, Kambrie Parker of Soso, MS, Brandon Jordan (Brittnie) of Stringer, MS, Haley Blackwell (BJ) of Stringer, MS, Aly Jordan (Blade Saulters) of Taylorsville, MS, and Danielle Jones (Austin) of Taylorsville, MS; seven great-grandchildren, Brayden Jordan of Stringer, MS, Blaze Jordan of Stringer, MS, Bella Jordan of Stringer, MS, Adalynn Saulters of Taylorsville, MS, Samuel Pipkins of Lucedale, MS, Hank Jones of Taylorsville, MS, and Harlee Jones of Taylorsville, MS; one brother, Larry Harvey of Mize, MS; one sister, Debbie Speed (Joe) of Seminary, MS; one niece, Lindsey Speed of Brandon, MS; one nephew, Joseph Speed (Lori) of Seminary, MS; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Jordan, BJ Blackwell, Neal Cole, Blade Saulters, Joseph Speed, and Quinton Pipkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Cooley, Terrell Knight, Johnny Dees, Bud Parker, Will Allen, Terry, Dennis Parker, and Gerald Derrick.
