Magee High School released the names of the top 3 students for the Class of 2021. Frennon McNair was named Valedictorian, Jamie Robertson was named Salutatorian and Historian.
Over his high school career, Brennon has been chosen to be a part of the Future Leaders of
Simpson County, Mayor’s Youth Council, American Legions Boys State Program, and the
University of Mississippi Trent Lott Leadership Institute. The summer before his freshman year, Brennon was granted the privilege of attending the Leadership Summit at Harvard Law School.
As a member of the Magee High School Varsity Baseball team, Brennon plays shortstop. He was part of the 2019 3A Runner-Up State Championship team. A team that rallied and gained he support of the entire City. Throughout his baseball career as a Trojan, he has been rewarded Scholar Athlete (2020), MHSAA All State Class 3A First Team (2019), Highest Batting Average (2019), District 6-3A Second Team (2019), District Champs (2019 & 2021), Trojan Warrior Certificate (2018-2020) and Letterman (2018-2020). As a special honor, he will be playing in the Class 3A D.M. Howie All-Star Game on June 10th.
Brennon will be attending the University of South Alabama on a baseball scholarship. While at South Alabama, Brennon will major in engineering but has aspirations to one day play in Major League Baseball.
Brennon credits his parents for instilling in him the principles to become a respectable young man in this world. He has been especially blessed to have been surrounded with grandparents and family members who have displayed a lifestyle that is pleasing to God and man. Brennon is an active member of Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E. Darnell Moffett, where he plays the drums, and is a part of the usher and youth ministry.
Brennon states “To my fellow underclassmen, always give 100% in whatever you do. Have no regrets. Work hard and strive for greatness. If you fall, get back up and start again. Cherish every moment. “DO NOT WASTE YOUR TALENT ON NONSENSE”. Do not let anyone tell you what is not achievable. Create your own path!”
Jamie is the daughter of Greg and Anita Robertson of Raleigh.
Lakecia will be attending William Carey University on an Academic Scholarship and major in music therapy and psychology. Lakecia gives thanks to her mom and Myricks Cole who has inspired her to do great in life. Lakecia’s advice to the underclassmen, “focus more on yourself.”
