The Mendenhall Elementary School Library recently held its first annual Bookmark Contest. The contest was open to all students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Every student received an official blank bookmark in early November. The students had the month to create a bookmark that promoted reading with words and/or pictures. A chosen winner, one in each grade, will have their bookmark copied and given to all students in their grade. The winners will also receive a certificate and a new hardback book from Mrs. Crawford, librarian. The judges had a tough time choosing these winners, because the submissions were so creative. Due to the excitement about this contest, it will become an annual event.

Kindergarten Winner Kentleigh Phillips

1st Grade Winner Jake Dampeer

2nd Grade Winner Racheal Martin

3rd Grade Winner Alli Pullens

4th Grade Winner Kaitlyn Sanders
