Mendenhall Elementary School holds 2020 Bookmark Contest

The Mendenhall Elementary School Library recently held its third annual Bookmark Contest. The contest was open to all students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Every student received an official blank bookmark in early November. The students had the month to create a bookmark that promoted reading with words, favorite character, and/or pictures. A chosen winner, one in each grade, will have their bookmark copied and given to all students in their grade. The winners will also receive a certificate, bookmark, and a new hardback book from Mrs. Crawford, librarian. The judges had a tough time choosing these winners because the submissions were so creative. Let’s continue to promote reading, as well as the arts with our children.

The winners are:

Kindergarten, John Gentry

1st Grade, Tavion Cade

2nd grade, Joy Bryant

3rd grade, Jacob Dampeer

4th grade, Mikayla Welch
