On December 11, 2015, Mendenhall Elementary School held its annual reading fair. The projects completed were from either fictional or nonfictional books that the students chose to read. The K-4th grade students were to complete the projects according to the guidelines set forth by the Mississippi Department of Education. Students either worked alone, in a group of 2 or 3, or with the help of family members. The projects were then judged in each specific division. The judges for the reading fair were Sylvia Kennedy, Rhoda Benton, Janella Lee, Cindy Sullivan, Dene Miller, Judy Byrd, Pam Smith, Lindsay Griffin, Laurel Crawford, and Becca Bridges. The staff at Mendenhall Elementary was extremely proud of the projects submitted this year and look forward to seeing what great projects will come forth next year! The first place winners will advance on to the District Reading Fair which will be held in January 2016 at Co-Lin Community College, Magee.
