Mendenhall High School Varsity Cheerleaders attended UCA Summer Cheer Camp at the University of Southern Mississippi this past weekend. On the second day, they received the “banana” for being the most spirited squad at camp. On their final day, they performed a home pom routine that they have been working on since April. They received a gold superior ribbon for their performance with the pom routine. They also received the Leadership Award (chosen by their peers at camp), All Superior trophy, gold and blue superior ribbons for Extreme Routine, Sideline, All-American Cheer and Home Pom Routine. The MHS Mascot, Simp the Tiger, received 3rd place Camp Champ. Each night the cheerleaders and Mascot received a spirit stick allowing them both to take one home. Mendenhall also had one jump-off finalist, Rebecca Liddell; one All-American, Aleigh Flynn; three Pin It Forward (those shown helping others) recipients: Parish Buckley, Kadaisha Barnes and Rebecca Liddell. Darby Andrews and Aleigh Flynn were asked to try out for the UCA staff after graduation.
Congratulations on a great job!
The team is under the direction of cheer coach Lauren Johnson.
