Members of Southern Miss Nursing Faculty Serve as Presenters
Dr. Janie Butts and Dr. Karen Rich, both members of the nursing faculty at The University of Southern Mississippi, were invited presenters at the University of South Alabama’s Sigma Theta Tau (international Honor Society for nursing) chapter meeting on Sept. 17. Their presentation was titled: “Theoretical Foundation in DNP Education.”
Butts, a professor on the Hattiesburg campus, is certified in Health Care Ethics by Rush University. She has co-authored five unedited books and three edited books. Rich, associate professor at the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach, has co-authored four books and co-edited two books.
They are currently in the process of preparing the third edition of their book, “Philosophies and Theories for Advanced Nursing Practice.”
