Due to a water emergency, Mayor Dale Berry has requested no utility work (boring) at this time in the city.  Following the shut down of water Plant 2, the city is operating off one well.  “At this time, there are no problems.  We are just being proactive” stated the Mayor.

Red Oak Construction out of Brookhaven has been awarded the bid for repair of the well.  Because of the emergency order, repairs and request are expedited through the state channels.

According to the Mayor, the repairs will still require about 45 days or more before the well is operable.  (Red Oak is under a 56 day contract)
