Mary Frances Gregg, 91 of Taylorsville, MS passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024 in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born Monday, November 13, 1933 in House, Mississippi.
A Graveside Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 2:00pm until 2:30pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 4602 Little Springs Ext, Taylorsville, MS. A Graveside Service will begin at 2:30pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with the burial to follow. Mike Walker will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564
Frances loved to travel, traveling all round the world. She lived in many parts of the U.S. as well as India, Brazil, and Thailand. She was a gourmet cook and wrote cookbooks. After her travels, she loved her job as a Librarian and Branch Manager at Evon A. Ford Public Library. She was loved by everyone who knew her and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marshall Theo Barber; mother, Willie Kate McAdory Barber; brothers, Henry Eugene Barber, Clifford Dorl Barber and Milford Rorl Barber; and son-in-laws, Silas Rocha and Timothy Cooper.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Diane Gregg Dunderdale, Patricia Lynn Gregg Rocha and Lisa Karen Gregg Cooper; grandchildren, Colin Dunderdale (Dujdao), Cassandra Rocha-AlQurashi (Mazin), Christy Vreeland (Todd) and Nathan Cooper; and six great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Cooper, Joseph Walker, and Robbie Yarborough.
