Marie R. Amason, 84, of Mize, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday the 10th of March at Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood.
She was born in 1934 in Smith County to George and Bertha Robinson and was one of eight children. She was a lifelong member of Concord Baptist Church in Mize. She enjoyed her work as a dental assistant with Dr. Buford Neely for 42 years.
Mrs. Amason loved the Lord and her family. She was known to have a smile that lights up a room and a kind word for everyone. She had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed hosting friends and family as often as possible. All who knew her loved her peanut brittle, which she graciously shared with many. She was always quick to prepare and deliver a meal when friends or family members were going through a hard time. And you could always count on her to show up with her famous potato salad or chicken spaghetti at church events.
Mrs. Amason is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 67 years, Mitchel; sister, Virginia Wells, brothers, G.T. Robinson (Carolyn), Norman Robinson (Jo); sisters-in-law, Reba Robinson, Mamie Lee Amason, Adierene Pennington, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Witsol Robinson, Rudolph Robinson, Ralph Robinson; sister, Geneva McAlpin; sisters-in law, Doris Robinson, Joyce Robinson; brothers-in-law, Ershal McAlpin, Nelson Wells, Rayvon Amason; three nieces and one nephew.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Magee. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Magee. Internment will follow at Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Bro. Will McNeese will officiate.
