Tate Clayburn has suffered with brain cancer since age 17. He is fighting the fight…but needs our help.
Tate is a member of the Magee Volunteer Fire Department where he is an active member. (Somethings he can’t do, but what he can…he does)
Tate’s fellow fireman want to make a difference in Tate’s life. The department is sponsoring a benefit for Tate Saturday, April 26th from 11 AM-1 PM. Chicken plates are $10 and will be available at the 5 way stop in Magee. Pre-ordering is not necessary. The MVFD goal is 1,000 plates.
I interviewed Tate and Fire Chief David Craft earlier in the week. David emphasized the dedication Tate has for the fire department. “If he can come, he is there,” stated Craft.
David explained that many people include a donation along with the cost of the plate.
“100% of the money goes to Tate and his family,” stated the Chief. Many people have donated food for the event. “B. J. Smith organizes our cooking and gets most items donated. BJ is the force behind the event.”
