March 24, 2017: Magee PD Chief Randy Crawford, Assistant Chief Joey Womack and Officer Matt Gipson attended today’s signing into law of HB 645, the Back the Badge Act. Matt is the “little” brother of House of Representatives Judiciary Chairman Andy Gipson who helped pass the bill through the Legislature. The bill, effective July 1, 2017, will provide double penalties for crimes specifically targeting law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
