Magee General Hospital Hosts Ribbon-Cutting and Open House following Extensive Renovation
MAGEE, Miss. – December 8, 2025 – Magee General Hospital invited the community to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house celebrating the completion of the hospital’s year-long renovation project on Dec. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The project, which was completed in phases, included the renovation of three state-of-the-art surgical suites; new pre-operative and post-operative areas; a new surgical nurses’ station; a more centralized registration area; the addition of a large conference room; updated wayfinding and new furniture and finishes throughout the hospital’s entryway.
MGH officially broke ground on this extensive project on February 26, 2025, after receiving a $4 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration.
“Magee General Hospital is immensely grateful for the efforts of all who have been involved in this project,” President and CEO Gregg Gibbes said. “This achievement would not have been possible without the support of Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, the excellent work of Codaray Construction, and the dedication of our MGH leaders who ensured uninterrupted operations throughout the project.”
As part of this project, MGH was also able to make some improvements to the outside of the hospital, including repaving the parking lot and painting the front facade.
“As an organization, we work hard to continue to meet the needs of our community, and this renovation really helps us do that,” Executive Director Pam Wallace said. “We are looking forward to a bright future.”
The ribbon cutting and open house was an exciting opportunity for the community, public officials and hospital employees to celebrate the culmination of a project that has been years in the making.
