Magee fire department responded to a grass fire approximately 3 miles south of Magee city limits Thursday afternoon just before 4:00 PM.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and quickly extinguished the flames in the grassy area just off the shoulder of a highway 49 south before declaring the scene secure and returning to this fire station.
Magee police department also responded to the scene for assistance.
