Magee High School suffered a heartbreaker of a loss against the Jefferson County Jaguars Friday, October 28, 2019.  Magee lost by a score of 18-16.

The Trojans traveled to Bassfield to take on the Jaguars. Mother nature played a role in the game all day Friday. The fog rolled in and covered the stadium for the evening.

A defensive game took place during the first quarter where neither team scored any points. Magee seemed to find the formula for success during the second quarter scoring 16 points. Chandler Pittman scored on an 11-yard quarter back keeper. The point after attempt by Sam Rials was good. Jefferson Davis answered quickly. Keysar Booth scored on a 30-yard run. The Point after attempt was no good. Magee was on top by a score of 7-6. Josh Sanders for Magee crossed the gaol line on a 44-yard reception from Pittman. The Point after attempt was no good. Seconds before half time, Magee would add points to the score board when Kicker Sam Rials drilled a 34-yard filed goal to give the Trojans a lead by a score of 16-6.

Second half did not play to the Trojans favor. Magee was unable to find the end zone during the second half. Third quarter Jefferson Davis scored on a 36-yard run. The point after attempt was no good. The Jags were not finished and scored on a 11-yard run. The point after attempt was no good. The score was enough to inch the Jags in the lead and win by a score of 18-16.

Magee faced the second loss of the season. The Trojans are now 8-2 on the season. The lost seated Magee in the 4th place for playoff’s. The Trojans have only loss two games on the season but the losses came to teams within the district. Two of the teams losses on the season came from playing each other and one team is undefeated.

Magee will face an undefeated Columbia Friday, November 1, 2019 at Trojan field. Friday night will be senior night and all seniors will be recognized pregame.
