Magee Board of Alderman met Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at City Hall.
Mayor Berry reminded everyone about the Christmas parade scheduled for Thursday, December 14, 2017. A caroling will follow the parade in Ural Everett Park. The Mayor also advised the city is working on issues with the lighting down town. Fuses are blowing due to the overload with the lights themselves Christmas angles and music. The mayor also advised an anonymous donation had been given to purchase a new flag that was damage during heavy winds. The flag is located on Highway 49 near Zips and Sears.
A representative with CSpire met with the Board for approval to bring their internet service to the surrounding area.
A city auction is planned for February 17, 2018.
Trey and Taylor Polk met before the board asking permission to sale items from Polk’s Gifts on the sidewalks or in the Ural Everett Park. The sale would not be a daily or weekly event possibility once a month. The board is taking the request under advisement.
In a 4-1 vote, the board approved transferingr Shawn Copper with the Police Department from part time to full time status.
With no further business, the meeting was recessed until December 19th.
