Magee Board of Alderman met Tuesday, September 3, 2019 for their regular scheduled meeting.
The board approved the minutes and claims docket presented.
Mayor Dale Berry advised the board he is still working on a solution for red lights on Hwy 49 and Hwy 28.
Bids for grass cutting within the city were opened Tuesday morning. Bids were presented at the board meeting. Some bidders came before the board expressing why they should be chosen for the job. The board has taken the bids under advisement and will discuss more in depth at a future board meeting. Attached is a copy of the all the bids presented.
Cucina Restaurant was approved by the board for an alcohol permit.
In building matters, Joe Worrell Building Inspector, met before the board to discuss projects that are happening in the area. Burger King has broken ground and building should start soon. Dollar Tree will began renovations to their building shortly.
Chief of Police Randy Crawford came before the board asking to hire two part-time employees. Michael Payne and Charles Anthony Alexander. The board approved the recommendations for hire.
