Magee made the long road trip to Yazoo City to take on the Indians in a non conference game. Magee won by a score of 21-8. The win moves the Trojans to a 3-1 recored on the year.

Magee’s defense continued to play hard and show the opposing team they meant business. The Trojans intercepted the ball from the Indians with a little over 3:00 minutes left in the first quarter.

#23 Jawon Shaw crossed the goad line first for the Trojans, scoring on a rushing touchdown with 3:00 left in the first quarter.  The point after attempt by #21 Gavin Chafin was good. Magee led by a score of 7-0.

With six minutes remaining, Magee’s defense had another great play when the Trojans intercepted a Yazoo City pass and had the ball on their own 6-yard line.  Magee was unable to score on the turnover.

The Trojans defense was not finish. #17 J’Kwon Gregory intercepted a Yazoo City pass. The Trojans were not able to utilized on the turnover.

Magee led by a score of 7-0 entering the halftime.

The Trojans kicked the ball off to Yazoo City to start the second half. The kick off was returned for a touchdown by the Indians. The two-point conversion was good and Yazoo was on top by a score of 8-7.

Magee responded quickly when #3 Triston Newsome completed a pass to #6 Kyerston Tucker for a touchdown with nine minutes remaining in the third quarter. Chafin’s point after attempt was good and Magee was back in the lead by a score of 14-8.

Magee sealed the game with seven minutes remaining in regulation when #3 Newsome scored on a rushing touchdown. #23 Chafin’s point after attempt was good. Magee increased their lead by a score of 21-8.

Yazoo City had a big play when the defense recovered a fumble by Magee with two minutes remaining in regulation. Magee’s defense would hold strong and as time expired the Trojans win by a score of 21-8.

Magee’s Head Coach Zack Jones stated “Our defense played great again. Offensively we moved the ball much better. We must finish driver though. We had a couple of mistakes in special teams that we must fix. We are getting better now we just need to put it all together.”

The Trojans will be back at home Friday, October 1st, 2021 to open district 3A Region 6 play against McLaurin. McLaurin enters the game with a 2-3 record. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
