Mae Carolyn Blakeney Arender, 84 of Raleigh, MS passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 at the St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.  She was born Friday, August 18, 1939 in Center Ridge, Mississippi.

 Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Raleigh. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church Raleigh. Burial will follow in Bezer Cemetery in Raleigh, Mississippi. Bro. Jimmy Arender, Bro. Darryl Arender, and Bro. Wayne Delk will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

 Carolyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raleigh where she enjoyed Sunday school and Happiness Is. Carolyn was a cosmetologist for many years while raising her children. At age 50 she returned to William Carey University and received her Bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Elementary Education. Carolyn taught for over 20 years and drove a school bus. After retiring Carolyn went home to enjoy her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 Survivors include her sons, James Harold Arender, Jr.  (Brenda) and Jamie  Arender  (Connie );  daughters, Terry  Jones  (Donnie ) of Raleigh, MS and Amanda  Cargile  (Shan);  grandchildren, Alisha  Thames  (Cliff), Charlie  Harrison, Allison  Harrison  (Thomas ), Clayton  Arender, Gracelyn  Arender, Kacie  Yeager  (Sam), Jared  Jones  (Katie), Meagan  Arender, Dana  Davis  (James ), Carsyn  McIntyre  (Derrick ), Taylor  Cargile, Luke  Cargile  (Samantha ), Rebecca  Gateley  (Logan);  great grandchildren, Sawyer  Thames, Sadie  Thames, Brooklyn  Harrison, Bryson   Harrison, Addyson  Harrison, Atley  Harrison, Kemper  Yeager, Witt  Yeager, Jones  Yeager, Annaleigh  Jones, Emmalyn  Jones, Caroline  Davis, Charlie  Davis, Bo  Davis, Liam  McIntyre, Aspen  Gateley and Weslee  Gateley.
