JACKSON – Gruesome dismemberment abortions could be prohibited in Mississippi under a bill passed by the Senate today, Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves said.
The Mississippi Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act, House Bill 519, would ban the practice in the state. The bill returns to the House for consideration.
“I am committed to making Mississippi the safest place in America for an unborn child, and this legislation continues our work toward that goal,” Lt. Gov. Reeves said. “Dismemberment abortions are a horrific method and should not be allowed in Mississippi.”
