At 6:03 A.M., Magee Fire responded to the report of a gas tanker on fire at Love’s Travel Stop. Once the fire department arrived on scene, it was determined that the fire had been extinguished by the driver of the tanker truck and Magee Police Officers on scene using two fire extinguishers. Magee Firefighters used a booster line and approximately 100 gallons of water to cool wheel hubs and brakes.
Once the scene was secure, all units returned to the station. In total, Magee Fire Department had 3 units respond and 8 firefighters on scene; 4 men remained at the station in case of a second alarm.
