“Let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth.”

By James Davis

The Scriptural passage for today is found in 1 John 3:18: “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth.” This verse only confirms what we’ve all said many times during our lives, and that is that it’s fine to tell someone we love them, but to show that love in day-to-day actions is far more preferable. The love of God doesn’t consist merely of hollow words, but is daily lavished on all who call Him Lord. Let us be known as people who show love consistently and with compassion. While at it, as I remind everyone daily, let’s share not only love, but joy, and kindness to all those with whom we come in contact. The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God. Amen.
