The Scriptural passage for today is found in Hebrews 12:2-3: “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him, who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Again, the members of the early Christian church were being offered words of encouragement to keep them focused in their daily walk. They were reminded of the ultimate price Jesus had paid for their sins so that all might be able to experience the gift of salvation. The early Christians were faced with ridicule, scorn, abuse, and even death for their belief that Jesus was the Messiah, the Promised One. That same gospel message holds true for us today, lest we grow weary and lose heart. Let’s not. Now, in conclusion, we are charged to go forth and share the love, joy, and kindness with all those with whom we come in contact. Let us do so with a heart filled with compassion so others will see Jesus in us. It’s an awesome task given us by none other than our awesome God. Amen!
